(Filmed in Summer 2019) -

I've known Mia's mom for over 20 years. During Mia's senior consultation we discussed locations that she might like. She said (with a frowny face), "My mom really wants me to be photographed at a church."I told her not to disregard the idea because we may be able to find a really cool church, as a background. Her mom said, "I wish we could photograph her in my home town, at my grandparent's (and great grandparents) church, that I grew up in. But it's too far away." When I asked where it is, she told me that it's in Creswell, NC. I said, "It's only an hour away...Let's go!" She started crying instantly. She hadn't seen her family in quite a few years. She sent me a photo of the old church from the late 1800s. Her family was thrilled to have us visit.

The first outfit was done at the church...where we witnessed a solar halo. It's a mesmerizing circle of light around the sun. We continued with her first outfit at an old post office building, down the street. A dragonfly landed on Mia's toe. Legend has it that dragonflies were given an extra set of wings, so that angels could ride on their back. When dragonflies appear when angels are near. I love dragonflies...they are so friendly and curious.

We stopped by for a visit with the family. As we walked through the grass, Mia and I stepped in a fire ant pile. OUCH!

We moved on to "downtown" Creswell (one stoplight town). We asked permission to photograph Mia at an old house that had a beautiful porch. Another dragonfly joined us.

Her family told us about an old historical plantation called Somerset Plantation that was in operation from 1785-1865. We decided to check it out. It had a beautiful garden maze.

I've learned to trust the journey that fate gives me. It always leads me to the most magical places.
