Casey's Story

When I was 18, I told my family that I wanted to be a photographer. Some of my family members laughed at me. I thank God that I didn't listen to them.

Casey is an award-winning portrait photographer based in Chesapeake, Virginia, who concentrates on seniors and tweens. She began her photography journey 30 years ago, when she took her first photography and darkroom class in high school. With a determined work ethic and tenacious personality, she grew her part-time “weekend-warrior” business to her full-time 1,600 square foot studio, Storybook Studios.

Casey lives to build confidence in teens/tweens struggling to find themselves.

Degrees and Certifications

Master Portrait Photographer (M. Photog)
Accredited from the Professional Photographer's of America (PPA). This degree recognizes superior photographic competence, demonstrated through photographic competition, advanced education, and service to the profession.

Certified Professional Photographer (CPP)
This certification is earned by a photographer that has professional knowledge and experience, while also declaring that photographer as one who has achieved and maintains a higher standard in the profession. Only 4% of professional photographers have this designation.

Fellow Photographer (FP)
Degree from the Virginia Professional Photographer's Association (VPPA). These credentials identify outstanding professional photographers, worthy of recognition by their professional peers.

She also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism/Communications and Associates Degree in Computer Science.
